Put recurring work on a routine

Available broadlyLast reviewed

A routine combines an instruction with a trigger. Use one for a reminder, recurring brief, or a task that should start when a supported event arrives.

Create a schedule

Open Workspace → Routines → New routine, choose the teammate, and enter a name and instruction. Enable On a schedule and choose the timing. Check the displayed timezone before saving.

You can also ask in conversation:

Try this

Every Monday at 09:00 Europe/Berlin, prepare a brief from the shared project notes. Include changes since last week, open decisions, and overdue actions. Post the result in our conversation.

Specify the timezone in conversational requests. Do not rely on “morning” when a precise delivery time matters.

Try the routine before relying on it

Use Run now to inspect a first result. Check that the source is accessible and the output appears where expected. Adjust the instruction, then leave the routine enabled for future runs. The routine list lets you pause and enable routines.

Use other triggers

The routine editor also supports GitHub events, webhooks, and selected messaging events. These depend on the corresponding connection and trigger setup. Configure the source and filters shown in the form, then test with a relevant event.

Group details can expose group routines. Use those when the task belongs in a shared conversation and the control is available.
